આપણે ત્યાં લગભગ બધા ધોરણના ભાષાના પાઠ્યપુસ્તકમાં શરૂઆતમાં એવા પાઠ આપેલા છે કે જેમાં ચિત્ર જોઈ અને વર્ણન કરવાનું હોય છે આવા પાઠોને આપણા વિદ્વાન શિક્ષકો દ્વારા હાસ્યાસ્પદ માનવામાં આવે છે.હવે આ પાઠોનું મહત્વ કેટલું છે એ સમજવા માટે નીચેની બાબત વાંચો.

“નીચે આપેલ ફોટોગ્રાફનું વિશ્લેષણ કરી તમારા રચનાત્મક નિરીક્ષણો વિગતે લખો.”(ફોટો નીચે આપેલ જ છે)

GPSC વર્ગ ૧ & ૨ની 20 જુલાઈથી શરૂ થયેલ મુખ્ય લેખિત પરીક્ષામાં ગુજરાતી ભાષાના પ્રશ્નપત્રમાં પુછાયેલ એક પ્રશ્નમાં આ ફોટોગ્રાફમાં કેટલાક મિત્રોને મહીલાઓ પાણી ભરવા જાય છે તેવું તો કેટલાકને આ ચિત્રમાં ભારતીય મહિલાઓની એકતા અને સંગઠનનું ઉત્તમ ઉદાહરણ દેખાયું. કોઈકે મહીલાઓના ચહેરા પરની ખુશી વાંચી તો કોઈકને તેઓની હાર્ડશીપ નજર આવી. ઘણા લોકોને આ મહીલાઓ ડેરીમાં દુધ ભરવા જતી હોય તેવું લાગ્યું અને તે પરથી કો-ઓપરેટીવ મુવમેન્ટ, વીમેન એમ્પાવરમેન્ટ, પશુપાલન થકી ગ્રામીણ વિસ્તારનો સામાજિક-આર્થિક વિકાસ વિગેરે વિગેરે બાબતો ધ્યાનમાં આવી. 

તો સમજવાની વાત એ છે કે ધોરણ 1 થી 10 ની સમગ્ર શિક્ષણ પદ્ધતિને આપણે ખાલી જગ્યા અને જોડકા અને ટૂંકા પ્રશ્નોના દાયરામાં લાવી મૂકી દીધી છે.જેનાથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓની વિચારવાની શક્તિ હકીકતમાં કુંઠિત થઈ ગઈ છે અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માનસિક રીતે અપંગ બની ગયા હોય એવો એક શિક્ષક તરીકે એહસાસ કરી રહ્યો છું.અત્યારે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ચાર લીટીના પ્રશ્નોના જવાબ મોઢે કરવા પણ તૈયાર નથી.ઘણા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સામે ચાલીને જ કહે છે કે સાહેબ ખાલી જગ્યા અને જોડકા તૈયાર કરવા આપો પણ મોટા પ્રશ્નો તૈયાર કરવા ના આપો. મોટો પ્રશ્ન વાંચવાની ક્ષમતા પણ આપણા બાળકો ગુમાવી ચૂક્યા છે.એવા શિક્ષકો છે કે જે વિજ્ઞાનનો પાઠ ભણાવતા જ નથી પરંતુ સીધા પ્રશ્નો તૈયાર કરાવે છે.હવે આવા મહાન શિક્ષકથી ભારતમાં કેટલા વૈજ્ઞાનિકો અથવા ગણિતશાસ્ત્રીઓ પેદા થાય એ વાંચકોના ઉપર છોડું છું .પરંતુ જેણે જીવનમાં આગળ વધવું છે એણે પોતાની અંદર મૌલિકતાનો વિકાસ કરવો ફરજીયાત છે અને એ નીચેના પ્રશ્નો પરથી સમજાય છે કે gpsc કક્ષાએ પણ ડેરીમાં દૂધ ભરાવતી બહેનોના ચિત્ર વિશે મૌલિક લખવાનું કહેવામાં આવે છે એટલે વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ અને શિક્ષણ પદ્ધતિએ હવે ખાલી જગ્યા,જોડકા અને ટૂંકા પ્રશ્નો ની માયાજાળમાંથી બહાર આવીને મૌલિક ચિંતન તરફ જવાની જરૂર છે.મૌલિક ચિંતન માટે નિબંધ અને વિચાર વિસ્તાર સંક્ષેપીકરણ તથા લાંબા પ્રશ્નો અને ટૂંકનોધ તરફ જવાની જરૂર છે

(વધુ જાણકારી માટે: અત્રે ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે ગુજરાત જાહેર સેવા આયોગ (GPSC) દ્વારા 20, 22 & 24 જુલાઈ દરમિયાન વર્ગ ૧ & ૨ ની મુખ્ય લેખીત પરીક્ષાનું આયોજન થયું છે. પ્રાથમિક કસોટીના પરીણામને આધારે કુલ 6797 ઉમેદવારો 224 પદો માટે મુખ્ય લેખીત પરીક્ષા લખવા લાયક ઠર્યા છે. પ્રાથમિક કસોટીના પરીણામને આધારે જાહેરાતમાં દર્શાવેલ જગ્યાની સામે આશરે ૧૫ ગણા ઉમેદવારો મુખ્ય લેખીત પરીક્ષા ( mains ) લખવા લાયક ઠરે છે. મુખ્ય લેખીત પરીક્ષામાં ૧૫૦ માર્ક્સના કુલ ૦૬ પ્રશ્નપત્ર છે જે ૩ કલાકમાં લખવાના હોય છે. પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૧ : ગુજરાતી; પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૨ : અંગ્રેજી, પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૩ : નિબંધ; પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૪ : સામાન્ય અભ્યાસ-૧; પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૫ : સામાન્ય અભ્યાસ-૨ અને પ્રશ્નપત્ર-૬ : સામાન્ય અભ્યાસ-૩.  

ગુજરાતી અને અંગ્રેજી ભાષાના પ્રશ્નપત્રોમાં એક પ્રશ્નમાં ઉમેદવારોએ “ચિત્ર” ( visual information) પરથી લખવાનું હોય છે જે ગ્રાફ / ઇમેજ / ફ્લો ચાર્ટ / આંકડાકીય સરખામણી / ડેટા વગેરે હોઈ શકે.

જીપીએસસીની આગામી મેઈન્સમાં પણ જો ચિત્ર પરથી લખાણ પુછાય તો જરૂરી બાબતો ધ્યાને રહે તે હેતુથી આ પોસ્ટ લખવાનું મનથયું.શુભેચ્છા!!!)

 We have given textbooks at the beginning of almost all standard language textbooks in which you have to look at the picture and describe it. Such texts are considered ridiculous by our learned teachers. Now read the following to understand the importance of these texts.

 "Analyze the photograph below and write down your creative observations in detail." (The photo is below)

 In a question asked in the Gujarati language question paper in the main written examination of GPSC class 1 & 2 starting from 20th July, in this photograph, some friends go to fetch water, while others saw in this picture an excellent example of unity and organization of Indian women.  Someone read the happiness on the faces of the women and someone noticed their hard work.  Many people thought that these women were going to milk in the dairy and from that things like co-operative movement, women empowerment, socio-economic development of rural area through animal husbandry etc. came to mind.

 So it is understandable that we have brought the whole teaching method of Std. 1 to 10 into the realm of space and twins and short questions.  At present the students are not even ready to answer the four line questions by heart.  Our children have also lost the ability to read big questions. There are teachers who not only teach science lessons but prepare straightforward questions. Now I leave it up to the readers how many scientists or mathematicians are born in India from such a great teacher.  It is imperative to develop originality within oneself and it is clear from the following questions that even at gpsc level it is necessary to write original about the picture of sisters feeding milk in dairy.  Need to move towards. Essay and field of thought abbreviations for original thinking and need to move towards long questions and short notes.
